We cannot go to France this year but you can have the wine, such as the pair of whites below ““ available at most LCBOs. Create the setting, get a baguette, some olives and you’re half-way there. Buy and open, and you’re as close to France as you can get right now.
WHITES
The south of France is home to the Viognier grape and Laroche’s wine delivers the trademark charm, freshness and fruity/sweetness. Delicious sipper and party wine. At a good price. And handy screwcap. Dunno about you, but when I take a white wine out of the fridge, the last thing I want is looking for a corkscrew.
Another handy screwcap is Louis Bernard’s delightful white Rhone. Blind tasted, I’d pick it as a non-oaked Chardonnay ““ lots of freshness, mild flavour and medium-bodied. Sits in that useful spot between everyday and special. Perfect anytime white.
