I’m a big fan of red blends. The south of France not only agrees with me, but it’s the law for their top wines – no single grape variety reds allowed! Why not combine a few grape expressions to deliver something more interesting. Case in point is Cono Sur’s wine below. It delivers a mix of fruity, spicy flavours and a rustic edge. Warmth and vitality. Cabernet is the lead setting a firm note, while Carmenere and Syrah add a little jazz and charm. What a show for the price.
The MOOD for this wine: Any winter evening, preferably with hearty food. Lightly chill.
