I drank this wine on one of our “˜stinky hot’ evenings, by way of seeing how it might deliver. And it did. And I learned something too. Chenin has a slightly sweet underbelly which I thought might interfere with its refreshing side, but the opposite happened. I found that the sweetness (just a trace), sedated my thirst as much as the acidity in the wine. Or maybe it just calmed me down. Either way, I’m on a kick to experiment more with off-dry whites in hot weather. Meanwhile, I highly recommend starting a summer evening with Waterkloof Chenin Blanc. I could also see it being a perfect partner for an alfresco brunch.~
