Valentine Supper

Valentine’s can be stressful enough without me recommending special bottles that are not in your local store. I thought it might be more useful to offer wines that are generally available, along with a few possible food suggestions. You can add your own Valentine touch.

A bright start: Add a splash of Aperol to Prosecco for a truly bright-red aperitif. Aperol is a bitters, but it also has a sweet side. When added to bubbly it creates an appetizing, colourful and fun drink. Sure to please.

APEROL, Italy 176834 $25.95
VILA SANDI Prosecco, Veneto, Italy 394387 $13.95

Candlelight~  dinner: The silky, musky nature of Pinot Noir speaks of romance. Especially by candlelight. And it flatters almost any food ““ salmon, chicken, beef, vegetarian, or mildly spicy.

ERRAZURIZ 13 Pinor Noir, Chile 226696 $14.00

Chocolate and its perfect partner: Make an attractive display of truffles on a plate, along with a glass of chilled Framboise. This raspberry drink makes an exciting contrast with chocolate.

SOUTHBROOK Framboise VQA Ontario 341024 $15.00/$375ml
