The big wine region in the south of France goes by the name of Languedoc-Roussillon. A bit long-winded from a marketing stance, but the upside is we wine drinkers get to enjoy fab wines at reasonable prices. At least those smart enough to seek out Languedoc-Roussillon. Which could be described as the California of France ““ sunshine and heat ““ producing reds with big flavours and richness. However, the wines tend to be more complex than California thanks to the custom of blending several grape varieties. The wine below could be likened to Merlot, Shiraz or Cotes du Rhone ““ or a blend of all three. Yummy for sure.
