Why pay premium for Montepulciano Abruzzo when the LCBO has lots of it in the $8 range? These low priced wines tend to â€˜easydrinking/commercialâ€™ drinks â€“ stuff for people that donâ€™t really like wine. This guy however, has the traditional â€“ bone dry, gutsy, rustic â€“ quality that makes Italy unique. One sip of this and youâ€™re over there â€“ at a village trattoria, with the magical sounds of people doing food and wine. With gusto. Forget smooth.
