The shelves are littered with low-priced, super smooth reds ““ but some feel concocted and overly sweet. Not real. This newly arrived, south of France Merlot comes by its richness naturally ““ the ripe plummy character of Merlot grown under the Mediterranean sun. The aftertaste is nice and clean, as opposed to the candied finish from so many other smooth reds. Get on it.
