My love of Beaujolais (and all Gamays) usually centres around lighthearted times and picnics, but there is another side, another style ““ Beaujolais for the supper table. Such as Duboeuf’s wine which delivers this more solid experience. Gamay’s delicious and refreshing fruitiness is still there, but there is the suggestion of the supper table over picnic or party gulping. If you’d care for more tang and flavour, spend the extra on Jadot’s wine. It’s also very supper-ish.
Both of these may be the most food/mood friendly reds in the world. From burgers to chicken to spicy dishes. Lightly chilled of course. Try them and you’ll see in a flash why Beaujolais is the wine of choice for millions of diners in French bistros.
The Mood for these wines: Any summer meal with the French bistro feeling.
