A lot of us drink Vinho Verde in summer because it’s high on refreshment, and low in alcohol. And the feeling is fun ““ shades of lemonade! Right now I’m having a Vinho Verde-like experience with a glass of Cave’s Riesling. Sure it’s a shade fruitier, and off-dry, but performing beautifully on a sunny afternoon by Lake Huron.

P.S. My Lake Huron stay was in Southampton ““ shades of Cape Cod. Honest ““ amazing beach walks and sunsets. Also check-out the super interesting Bruce County Museum, the uber-cool Outlaw brew pub, the down-to-earth Duffys fish’n chip tavern, and Highview for excellent Italian food in a retro atmosphere (run by Eugene, former owner of Bar Italia on College Street).
Billy you nailed it – I read your post and changed our plans for an August trip to Ottawa and traveled instead to Southampton. Was last here twenty-one years ago! Too long.
Dinner at Highview was amazing as was our host, Eugene. I told him the story of reading your recommendation of his restaurant and Southampton and he was very appreciative and is such a warm, welcoming man.
Keep it up Billy, you’re my favourite go to “wine guy”.
Cheers mate.
