For years Magnotta was the “˜bad boy’ on the Ontario scene. Under-cutting the LCBO, exploiting regulation loop holes and upsetting local wineries. The master plan to become an LCBO alternative never happened because the government tightened up and used its might to control Magnotta’s expansion. But the Magnotta show goes on. And if you live near one of their stores there are three red wines worth checking out. All at $9.95.
Magnotta Cabernet Franc feels like a Valpolicella ““ lively, with delicious bright flavours. Excellent house red and partner for everyday meals. The Shiraz is very bistro with lots of pucker. Rhone meets Chianti. Wonderful house wine. Fans of heft and New World sweetness/richness will love the Cabernet.
