Many of my favourite local reds have Italian DNA. Gamays and Pinot taste a lot like Barbera or Valpolicella. And here is a Pinot that’s suggestive of Valpolicella’s younger cousin, Baldolino ““ ~ one of my favourite summer reds. It’s light with delicate fruit and tangy refreshment ““ think earthy edition of Rosé. Great with alfresco lunches and early evening with appetizers. A must buy for folks who are lucky enough to have their own wood-burning pizza oven. Lightly chill, of course.
