CHILE IS THE NEW BOSS OF SAUVIGNON BLANC
France invented it, New Zealand popularized it, but Chile is the new champ when it comes to value-priced Sauvignon Blanc. Just about every winery makes a good edition, and generally speaking they bring everyday drinkability to what used to be a “˜challenging’ wine. Without robbing the grape of its distinctive personality.
Errazuriz wine may be the most crowd-pleasing Sauvignon on the planet. The grapes herbaceous flavours and nervy zest are delivered in a fun, friendly style. Shades of lemonade in its gulpability. No kidding, this is a yummy drink. Summer refreshment at its best. A MUST for the fridge door. Great party starter. Great wine buy.
Emiliana’s organic edition combines the super-refreshing nature of the grape, with with a yeasty/earthy flavor. A little different.
ERRAZURIZ 12 Sauvignon Blanc, Chile 263574 $12.95
EMILIANA 12 Sauvignon Blanc “˜Adobe’, Chile 266049 $12.95 (Organic & Biodynamic)
It’s funny how one can forget a wine – I used to buy the Errazuriz Sav Blanc but had forgotten about it.
Probably first learned about it from somebody’s “Best Bottles at the LCBO” book that is no longer published.
Thanks for the reminder.
Don’t worry Travis. I’d forgotten Errazuriz too!
