Cheers for Chile

Chile is doing everything right wine-wise. Crafting delicious, rich but not overdone wines, and selling them for reasonable prices. Check out the following pair from last week’s Vintages release.

Wine Style: Fresh White
TABALI 11 Sauvignon Blanc Reserva, Limari Valley, Chile
662999 $14.95

Who needs $20 Sancerre when Tabali is offering the same experience for a lot less. An exuberant, tangy wine with wonderful pure, mineral freshness. Stock-up and you’ll be thanking me on hot summer evenings.

Wine Style: Rich Red
SANTA RITA 08 Cabernet Sauvignon “˜Medalla Real Gran Reserva’, Maipo Valley, Chile~  275594 $19.95

Santa Rita’s regular Cabernet is one of the LCBO’s great values, but this will appeal to those looking for more. More concentration, heft and richness. A powerful, manly wine for your big steak night. Look out, it’s also a seducer.
