I did not include Cono Sur Viognier in my Holiday shopping guides because I’d already mentioned it several times throughout the year. But with a new vintage on the shelves I feel it’s time to remind everyone of this wonder wine.
While the newly arrived 2014 is as amazingly good as all the previous ones, it is young and therefore Viognier’s flower-power is subdued. Which is not a bad thing. The main experience is delicious refreshment ““ think Pinot Grigio with a suntan ““ and in a pretty dress! The perfect anytime/everyday $9.95 wine. Cono Sur’s winemaking is as deserving of awards as the la-te-da stuff.
