I love when old wineries re-invent themselves. And deliver a “˜take that’ to the hot shots of today. The Spanish house of Faustino could not be more traditional ““ with Velasquez-style labels, frosted bottles and pricy wines that feel of age. But lo and behold I’ve just had a charming Faustino experience for twelve dollars. It’s a silky wine that manages to feel both light and rich. And rustic too. But the main feature is charm. Would be a wonderful intro to the world of Rioja. And winter night companion.
