FRENCH WHITE FROM THE THREE MUSKETEER COUNTRY
Nice, fresh and very gulpable, but the best feature here is “˜something different’ flavourwise. The Gros Manseng offers a little earthiness to partner the zest of the Sauvignon, so the feeling is of a French white from the past ““ frank, but good. Regional character over modern-day fruitiness and prettiness. A welcome new addition to the shelves.
BRUMONT 2011 Gros Manseng/Sauvignon, Cotes de Gascogne, France 297234 $12.70
Great to see you review this and great to see in the LCBO.
I ‘found’ this in Montreal last August. After buying one bottle I got a friend to pick up a case for me. Great intensity, delicious and what a value.
Interesting that this is the only ‘Brumont’ product at the monment. Would be good to see some Montus or Bouscasse’.
Arthur, one small step in getting more French wine into the LCBO. Visiting SAQ land next week – will look for your selections. Cheers!
