YUMMY RHONE RED ON SALE

Regular readers will know that yummy is not one of my favourite characteristics in wine. However, when combined with exciting and interesting other features, I’ll love yummy as much as the rest. This Cotes du Rhone has a jazzy vibe happening between the vibrant fruit of the Grenache grape, and the peppery notes of the Syrah. And there’s a refreshing bite to balance the richness. And what a spicy, sexy fragrance. My style of yummy! Gabriel Meffre is a respected major producer in the Rhone but for some reason the name is left off the label of this wine.

The Mood for this wine: The need not just for comfort, but also some refreshment.

GABRIEL MEFFRE “˜HOMMAGE’ N/V Cotes du Rhone, France 543850 $13.75 ($11.75 till March 28)
