Now that we are into the local asparagus season it’s time to think of its natural wine partner – Sauvignon Blanc. And maybe Chile, the current champion of ‘best value’ with this wine
Caliterra delivers frank flavor and refreshment. At an appealing price. Not terribly Sauvignon – more really good basic dry white. Think citrussy edition of Pinot Grigio. Hard to imagine a better Summer bottle for the fridge door.
Santa Carolina’s wine is more typical Sauvignon – herbs and citrus, almost tingling minerality, and the vitality and exuberance we associate with the colour lime green. A great edition of SB, and several dollars cheaped than the Kiwi bottles.
