I first discovered this wine in a country grocery store in Ireland. Honest. And people think it’s just Guinness over there. But back to the wine, and the pleasure of Viognier ““ surely one of the most exotic whites in the world. Glam in the style of Chardonnay, but without feeling so made-up. With food, I love how the slightly sweet flavours play off against the charred flavours of grilled pork, chicken or shrimp. Think weekend treat. Amazing value for such a sexy wine.
