I often find a seductive, lightish, Pinot quality in the wines from Portugal’s Dao region. High elevation, cool climate and tradition are probably the contributing factors, but who knows. What I do know is this wine has a good cheer, happy feeling. A delightful gulper. I drink a lot of Cabriz wines when in Portugal – you would too if you knew the price over there. However, I’m happy to pay the LCBO price for Cabriz.

The Mood for this wine: The need for a party crowd-pleaser, or a light-feeling red to partner white meats. Patio lunches down the road.
