I recently recommended Angels Gate Non-oaked Chardonnay and here’s two more similar whites worth exploring. I expect to see more Non-oaked Chardonnay on the market as appeals to drinkers looking for a lighter white ““ and they are big in numbers judging by the popularity of Pinot Grigio.

Kacaba have been on a roll with this wine for a few years. Think easy-drinking, moderate flavour and alcohol ““ wine for anytime. Just a baby now, so look for even better things as it learns to talk.

And now for something special, Marynissen’s Chardonnay ““ beautiful pure fruit flavours and mineral vitality combining for an elegant feeling. You also get a little exotic note from the Musque clone in the blend. Naturally it’s understated~ for Chardonnay, but what a really fine drink when in the aperitif or seafood mood. Love this.

KACABA 16 Unoaked Chardonnay, VQA Niagara 326975 $14.95
MARYNISSEN 13 Chardonnay, VQA Niagara 907683 Vintages $15.00
