Mostly I like Chianti on the young, vigorous side, but mellow works in the winter months. Especially when it’s at a reasonable price. And hey, you gotta like the jazzy new label. While Rocca della Macie’s wine leans towards smooth there is enough bite to keep the palate alive. Suggests braised meats – the Tuscan classic. But a messy tomato, sausage pasta would also be perfect.
