DON’T FORGET CRU BEAUJOLAIS ““ THE KING OF LIGHT RED

Now that so many people are in love with Pinot Noir it’s time to point out another, and more affordable, light red, Cru Beaujolais. These are premium Beaujolais’ originating from ten villages that are designated as Cru ““ as in top/best. While they are produced from the Gamay grape there is a close flavour and style resemblance to Pinot from up the road in the heart of Burgundy. Especially the earthiness and vitality.

Brouilly and Fleurie are two of the ten villages and the wines below are available at Vintages. (All ten villages are in Quebec wine stores). Have with any of the white meats or salmon. Perfect for Thanksgiving turkey too. Lightly chill.

CHATEAU DE CHATELARD 09 FLEURIE, Cru Beaujolais France (Vintages) 207886 $17.95
CHATEAU DE PIERREUX 09 BROUILLY, Cru Beaujolais, France (Vintages) 5496 $18.95
