For me no red wine feels more Fallish than Chianti. Especially one that’s had about five years in-bottle. Not only do you get the feelings and flavours of a forest floor but a sense of the patina on things in the Fall of their life. Love drinking wine that echoes the season. Paired with a few last grilled meats.
Most Italian reds have an earthy side, which becomes quite pronounced with some ageing. The mature Chianti below will take you “˜down in the woods’ with wonderful Fall day feelings. And suggestions of roasted meats and vegetables. Nourishment Tuscan style. If this sounds like your thing, move quickly as this is a very reasonable price for a mature wine.
