Doin’ the Deakin

DeakinShirazRegular readers know that I’m not a huge fan of Aussie Shiraz. Generally speaking I find them to be overly sweet, over ripe and gushy nice! And in many cases, overly priced! So why am I recommending the Deakin? Because the usual Aussie ripe fruitiness is delivered with a refreshing tang, and a bistro feeling ““ that invites food. A characteristic lacking in many Shiraz. wines And I’m impressed with the price. Perfect with weeknight pizza/burger or hockey.
