Calamus Calling

cal_barnThis tiny Beamsville Bench winery produces really good everyday wines at decent prices. The 08 unoaked Chardonnay is one of the best around. A perfect combination of refreshment and sensuality, play and performance. Light enough for everyday and jazzy enough for special events. Exuberant and delightful. Perfect to kick-off the evening. And a role model for local unoaked Chardonnay – the hot climate countries cannot produce this wine style. Calvin’s Cab is a light, lively Summer red – almost a Rosé. A bit herbaceous at first but the fun, Valpolicella character will hopefully win you over. A perfect picnic or patio sipper. Lightly chilled – and decanted, from the dreary package.
