I’ve been having good experiences with Chianti this year, and here’s another. The appeal of this wine is the woodsy, mature quality – suggesting traditional cellar methods. Certainly not for fans of bright/fruity reds, but if you spend a lot of money on old Burgundy and Barolo this offers a somewhat similar experience for a fraction of the price. Worth exploring for the mature-red experience. Think grilled veal chop, or any winter fireside experience.
