Another Version of Syrah

porcupineMy experience of South African Syrah is it usually falls between the Aussie and the French (Rhone) styles. Rich, warming, spicy, but also fairly dry and appetizing. A sort of perfect “˜best of both worlds’ wine. Reminds me a lot of Ripasso. Sure to please lots of palates and foods ““ especially red meats. A solid choice for Fall evenings.

BOEKENHOUTSKLOOF “˜Porcupine Ridge’ 12 Syrah, South Africa 595280 Vintages Essentials $14.95
