The Green Season

vinhoverdeIT’S VINHO VERDE SEASON ““ at last!

Tis the season for gulping wine.

Something low-alcohol and super-refreshing ““ such as Vinho Verde from the north of Portugal. It’s produced from slightly under-ripe grapes, hence the refreshing tartness, slight spritz, and low alcohol. And the “˜green’ name. There’s nothing better for patio parties, alfresco meals and general summer sloshing.

Quinta Aveleda has one of the prettiest winery gardens in the world and I’m glad to see it’s now in a bright new label ““ suggestive of the wine’s lively style. And it’s also screw-cap, and low priced.

P.S. Come to Lisbon on our Fall trip and you can buy a bottle for a third of the price! We just got back doing some research and have lined-up an incredible week!

AVELEDA 12 Vinho Verde, Portugal 5322 $8.95
