Regular readers know that I’ve always positioned Rioja as the no-brainer, seductive red. And here is a quintessential example. So over-the-top that the experience is more suggestive of boudoir than the dinner table. Difficult to describe but lets try exotic perfumes mixed with the flavours of the finest cigars – floating on silk. This is a great opportunity to experience the so-called ‘higher-end’ of Rioja. See if it seduces you. I know you’ll end up buying a case. And thinking ahead, there is no better wines for winter fireside. And delighting family over the Holidays.
