I recently recommended Angels Gate Non-oaked Chardonnay and here’s two more similar whites worth exploring. I expect to see more Non-oaked Chardonnay on the market as appeals to drinkers looking for a lighter white – and they are big in numbers judging by the popularity of Pinot Grigio.
Kacaba have been on a roll with this wine for a few years. Think easy-drinking, moderate flavour and alcohol – wine for anytime. Just a baby now, so look for even better things as it learns to talk.
And now for something special, Marynissen’s Chardonnay – beautiful pure fruit flavours and mineral vitality combining for an elegant feeling. You also get a little exotic note from the Musque clone in the blend. Naturally it’s understated for Chardonnay, but what a really fine drink when in the aperitif or seafood mood. Love this.
