If you are on the charm-over-power side of the red wine world you probably entertain Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Rhone reds. But have you tried Dao reds from Portugal? With a little age these can be very seductive – with warm, peppery/earthy flavours. And of course there’s the ‘distinctively different’ Portuguese flavor too.
This Duque is smooth and mellow from age. And a great value. The perfect partner for a winter, oven-roasted supper.
P.S. Come to Lisbon with me in September and I’ll blow your mind with some amazing Dao reds. And other Portuguese treats.
