Fans of Dry Riesling should jump on this, especially if you enjoy the grape’s classic whiff of petrol. Overall the wine feels refreshing, sharp, classy and in need of surroundings and company of a similar ilk. White linen table-cloth lunch for sure, or aperitif with seafood appetizers. Should age beautifully for another five years.
P.S. Charmes wine is a local I’d love to see at Duty Free Stores – when enroute to visit friends abroad. Wonder if the Ontario Wine group might consider investing (as in paying high rent) in a ‘primo local’ section at Canadian Duty Frees. Currently all the wines offed at Pearson are from one winery – Peller Estates.
