My experience of South African Syrah is it usually falls between the Aussie and the French (Rhone) styles. Rich, warming, spicy, but also fairly dry and appetizing. A sort of perfect ‘best of both worlds’ wine. Reminds me a lot of Ripasso. Sure to please lots of palates and foods – especially red meats. A solid choice for Fall evenings.
