Alternative White

This is an exciting time in white wine with the availability of experiences beyond the big three – Chard, Sauv and Grigio. Portugal is a natural to supply new flavours and experiences with its treasure trove of indigenous grapes such as this Encruzado.

Closest likeness might be the rich wines of Alsace which achieve full, herbaceous, natural  flavours without the use of oak cask. Marias wine also has the purity and elegant feeling of an Ontario Riesling. Snazzy aperitif, and seafood partner. I’m getting a little stash for summer evenings when it should be ‘perfect’ with BBQ’d seafood or white meats.
